*Gross - the contractual rate of interest paid without deduction of tax.
Gross interest is calculated over 12 months, except for International Fixed Rate Accounts. The gross interest figure for International Fixed Rate Accounts are calculated over the term of the account as indicated by you above.

**AER - The AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and illustrates what the interest rate would be if interest was paid and compounded each year.

The calculator assumes both gross and AER interest rates have remained the same for the period.  Note the interest rate used to calculate the figure is based on the interest rate applicable for that particular product and balance, at the time of making the calculation. The calculator assumes that the balance has remained the same throughout the period i.e. there have been no deposits or withdrawals.
